CON, PRN, AUX, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9.

NUL, AUX, CON, COM1-4, LPT1-3, and PRN
are reserved words used for DOS Devices

These are specified in IO.SYS and date back from the early MS Dos days. Here is a brief list:


CON – Console; combination of keyboard and screen to handle input and output
AUX – First serial communicationport
COM1 – Second, Third, … communicationport
LPT1 or PRN – First parallel port
NUL – Dummy port, or the “null device” which we all know under Linux as /dev/null.

How to create folder of these name

press and hold alt key type 255 release alt then type name, Which you want to create folder like con then Enter
